Privacy policy

Last updated November 1, 2026

Journal Pal is a private diary with Pax, an AI you can talk to. What you write here is your inner life, so the short version is: it's yours, it's used only to run the app for you, it's never sold or used for advertising, and you can delete all of it at any time.

What we store

How it's used

Only to provide the app to you: to show your journal, and to give Pax the context it needs to answer you. There are no ads, no analytics or tracking tools, and no profiling for anyone else. The only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in.

Who processes it

Pax can't work without third-party AI, so the app asks your permission before anything is sent. To withdraw it, delete your account.

Nothing is sold or shared with anyone else.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting providers, and the database only lets each account read its own rows. To be straightforward about it: your entries are not end-to-end encrypted, so the people running the service could technically access them. We don't, except when you ask us to help with a problem. On iPhone, the app can lock behind Face ID.

Deleting your data

Go to Context → Account → Delete account. Your account, entries, chats, photos and everything the app learned about you are deleted immediately and permanently. Backups held by our database provider roll off within their retention window.

Not a medical service

Journal Pal is a reflection tool, not therapy or medical care. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number, or in the US call or text 988.

Children

Journal Pal is not intended for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
